Research shows that a player who is just starting out needs to immediately experience the fun aspect of the game. Therefore, the Thistle Roots Academy focuses on teaching soccer fundamentals in a fun based play environment.

START THE BASICS WITH US!

Research shows that a player who is just starting out needs to immediately experience the fun aspect of the game. Therefore, the Thistle Roots Academy focuses on teaching soccer fundamentals in a fun based play environment.  

  • U4 & U5

    U4 & U5 (Beginner Level) – A fun and engaging introduction to soccer, focusing on motor skills, coordination, ball familiarity, and a love for the game through play-based activities.

  • U6

    U6 (Intermediate Level) – Players begin structured skill development with an emphasis on ball mastery, small-sided play, and basic tactical awareness to prepare them for the next level.

  • U7

    U7 (Pre-Travel Program) – A bridge between grassroots and travel soccer. Players transition through small-sided formats (4v4 in the fall, 5v5 in the winter, and 7v7 in the spring) while learning fundamental team concepts all under the supervision of our Zone 1 Director.
