The perfect introduction to soccer for players ages 2020-2018. Kearny Kickers focuses on the fundamentals of soccer in a fun environment. Our professional staff will work with players in small group settings to work on their skills and understanding of the game.

U7 2018-2017

    Sessions: 2 Training Sessions x 60 Minutes

    Games: 4v4 scrimmages or festivals

  • CURRICULUM

    Research shows that a player who is just starting out needs to immediately experience the fun aspect of the game. Therefore, the Kearny Kickers Program focuses on teaching soccer fundamentals in a fun based play environment.


    Characteristics of the Kickers Age Group:

    • Short attention span
    • Learn through fun and games
    • Easily fatigued, quick recovery, play at two speeds - on or off
    • Learning coordination and balance

    The Kearny Kickers Program focuses on two main areas:

    • Physical Literacy
    • Ball Awareness

    Physical Literacy

    • Tag-based activities to promote changes in speed and direction
    • Movement-based activities to promote the development of motor skills
    • Small-sided games to promote healthy competition

    Ball Awareness


    • Ball-related activities to promote physical literacy and technique familiarity.
    • Imaginative, cartoon-based games to promote fun and maintain player focus.

    Session Structure


    • Each session lasts for 60 minutes (1 per week).
    • Individual sessions consist of many short, fun activities
    • Lots of short breaks
    • A non-directive, fun-based coaching style is adopted

U8 2017-2016

  • DETAILS

    Season:  Fall 


    Sessions: 2x Sessions Week

    Games: Ten 4v4 league games in NCSA league (5 home/ 5 away)

    Tournament: Lyndhurst Spooktacular Tournament

    Coaches: USSF certified coaches running sessions and managing games

    Cost: $425 (uniform not included)

  • CURRICULUM

    • Small sided program emphasizes time on the ball and will help children develop a love for the game
    • Games are all instructional in nature with coaches on the field helping guide the players
    • Advanced U8 players will graduate to play 7v7 in the Spring
